What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy utilizes technology to give you and your family affordable and convenient access to behavioral health services online. Using MeMD Talk Therapy’s telehealth service and national network of US-licensed and certified providers, you can connect with a therapist or psychiatrist online, and receive care for many of the most common behavioral health concerns. Teletherapy can be a more convenient and private way to speak to someone, and can also be an alternative or supplement to in-office therapy.

How does MeMD Talk Therapy work?
When you have a behavioral health concern, either call MeMD Talk Therapy or visit the website. Once online you will be asked to register and log on. After you’ve created your account it’s simple to schedule a talk therapy session. You will meet with a MeMD Talk Therapy Therapist for an initial 50-minute exploratory visit that will allow you to examine your past and present thoughts and feelings in greater depth.

How does MeMD Talk Therapy psychiatry work?
When you have a behavioral health concern, either call MeMD Talk Therapy or visit the website. Once online you will be asked to register and log on. After you’ve created your account it’s simple to schedule a psychiatry session. You will meet with a licensed psychiatric provider for an initial 45-minute visit to determine a treatment plan that may include talk therapy, medications, psychosocial interventions and other treatments, depending on your needs. You will continue to meet with a psychiatrist for 15-minute follow-up sessions to manage medications and evaluate progress.

Is a webcam required?
A webcam may be required in certain states.

In what states is a webcam required?
Video-only appointments are required in 31 states: AK, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, ME, MD, MS, MO, NH, NJ, NM, ND, OR, OK, RI, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA and WI.

When is online therapy and psychiatry available?
Available appointment times are dependent upon provider availability. Many patients are able to meet with a provider in as little as 24 hours of requesting an appointment.

Who is eligible to use the service?
The therapy program is available to you, your spouse or domestic partner, and children from the ages of 18 to 26. Psychiatry sessions are only available to adults aged 18+.

Will I see a quality provider?
Yes. Talk therapy is provided by trained therapists who are licensed to practice in your state. Psychiatry is provided by state-licensed, NCQA-credentialed psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners.

Is this service confidential?
Yes. MeMD Talk Therapy services are HIPAA compliant and completely confidential.

How much does a visit cost?
MeMD Talk Therapy is being offered to you at a special rate of $65 for a 50-minute talk therapy session. MeMD Talk Therapy psychiatry is available at $229 for the initial 45-minute session and $99 for ongoing 15-minute follow-up sessions.

Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?
Yes. Because MeMD Talk Therapy is a qualified medical expense, you can use your FSA and HSA funds to pay for a MeMD Talk Therapy video or phone consultation.

Can my provider prescribe me medication?
Only psychiatrists are authorized to prescribe medication, so you must have a psychiatry appointment in order to potentially receive a prescription.

"MeMD” means Fabric Labs, Inc. and provides technology used by independent physician and therapist practices. MeMD offers medical and talk therapy services via telehealth to patients nationwide. Telehealth services may vary by state. Telehealth services are provided in accordance with state law by licensed healthcare professionals, subject to the licensed professionals’ judgment. When medically necessary, MeMD providers may prescribe medication that can be picked up at a local pharmacy of the patient’s choice; MeMD does not guarantee that a prescription will be written. MeMD providers do not prescribe controlled substances. MeMD is not a pharmacy or an insurance product. Virtual Urgent Care visits are not a replacement for a primary care physician.
