Connected Caregiving

Connected Caregiving

More than 20% of employees double as caregivers for adults, spending about 20 hours per week taking care of a loved one on top of work. Half of U.S. families report difficulty finding childcare, with millions of women reducing hours or leaving the workforce due to caregiving. Connected Caregiving by alska (“love” in Swedish) empowers caregivers and expecting/new parents to efficiently manage their caregiving responsibilities using a web-based platform for storing vital medical information, coordinating with care team members, sharing updates with family, connecting with other caregivers, and participating in virtual support groups and education webinars. Bundled with two additional benefits at no extra cost, caregivers also receive support from a companionship and task assistance service, and a legal document creation service.
  • Caregivers, including expecting/new parents, can share updates and delegate tasks to family, healthcare professionals, teachers, and other members of the care team
  • Caregivers receive unlimited email and chat support from professional patient advocates and access to virtual support groups and live education webinars for a range topics
  • Caregivers can easily keep track of appointments and medications using the interactive calendar
  • Documents can be securely stored in the alska vault, including prescriptions, advance directives, biometrics, insurance cards, ultrasound pictures, and immunization records
  • Caregivers have direct access to the Caregiver Helpline and chat support for help finding local childcare and other resources, with the option to pay $35 for 30 minutes or $65 for 60 minutes of personal one-on-one support from patient advocates, lactation consultants, birth doulas, and more
  • Caregivers can connect with other caregivers to share tips, resources, and support through the internal social network
